WELCOME TO MOOSEWOOD ART STUDIO

Moosewood Art Studio is a Visual Arts School for home school and after school students (Kindergarten-12 grade.)  Each class is designed to be taken as a full year class broken up by semesters. (Fall and Spring)  Here is a some information about the artist below:

My family and I moved to Palmer, Alaska from Stansbury Park Utah after my husband received a job transfer. While in Utah I had a wonderful opportunity to teach at a new high school and start a strong visual arts program. My visual art teaching position was at Stansbury High School where I was also privileged to teach college courses through Salt Lake Community College concurrent enrollment .

I am a current Alaska certified visual arts teacher and have 20 years teaching experience at the high school level, elementary, and homeschool . My classes range from beginning to advanced in all art media. I am currently qualified to teach AP Art Studio and have many students who have scored high on the portfolio review. I offer K-12 drawing and painting classes ranging between beginning to advanced with studio and AP art studio for the serious 11-12 grade student. My classes are very small (4 max.) so that I have more one-on-one time with each student. I feel that this is very important. At the moment I do not offer adult lessons, but will begin them as weekend workshops in the future.

I am a very talented artist with strengths in all manner of art media such as graphite, charcoal, pen and ink, watercolor, oil, and acrylic-to name a few. I also have the ability to teach these concepts to others and have been told by many of my students that I am an excellent teacher. These accolades were further confirmed when I received the Teacher of the Year award from Salt Lake Community College/Stansbury High School for the 2011-2012 school year. My favorite medium is watercolor where I enjoy painting Alaskan wildlife and portraits of my children.

I enjoy fly fishing, hiking, camping and being in the outdoors with my family. Many of my paintings depict my adventures. I look forward to meeting with you and am excited to offer art lessons. Register today.
